“This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.’”
-Jeremiah 6:16a

If you are a member of our church community or have visited with us recently, you may have heard we have begun a building campaign. But you may be wondering: why now, and what are our plans for this project? We have become ever more aware of the changing demographics of our community in recent years. What was once sprawling fields is now sprawling suburbia. Does our church facility meet the needs of our changing community? Over the past three years, several leadership groups have assessed our facilities through the lens of first-time visitors and everyday use by members. Many options were considered, some were fruitful and many were found unfeasible due to cost, current structures, or timeliness. While contemplating building plans, we sought to stay focused on mission and ministries. The overall goal of these groups was to facilitate ministry by inviting others to follow Jesus and joining them in the journey. Once it was concluded that we would not be sacrificing ministry, but instead enhancing it, the recommendation to make changes to our current facility was put forth. While we work on the facility, we have also committed to investing in our staffing and programming as it relates to youth and young families.

The Grow Forth Capital Campaign is a time of examining what the Lord is asking of us. It began with Kickoff Sunday on March 3rd, and will conclude with Commitment Sunday on June 2nd and Celebration Sunday on June 16th. At that time, we will know what we are able to commit to this project and this will allow us to finalize the facility design. In the meantime, we invite your prayers and support as we continue to discern God’s will for this congregation and how we might better serve our community on behalf of Jesus Christ.
