FAQs

  • PVSM is a specific time for 6th-12th graders to get together. Students who are beginning 6th grade are welcomed to youth group the Sunday before Labor Day.

  • We meet Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 am prior to the worship service at 10:30 am.

  • We meet every Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm except during holidays and school breaks. A link to the schedule is posted above and will show which Sundays we meet and what we are doing. During the school year we meet one Wednesday and one Thursday a month from 6:00 -7:30 pm.

  • Generally, we meet in the multipurpose room (gym) and ask students to enter the gym doors, but we usually communicate with parents or through the schedule if there is a different starting point.

  • We have lessons most Sundays, except for the once a month fun event. On the Sundays we have lessons, we start off in the gym for free time where students can be doing anything from playing basketball, volleyball, cards, or just hanging out and socializing until about 5:30 pm. We then have a structured game time until about 6:00 pm. As we transition to our lesson part of the evening, students are offered a snack. We start the lesson with worship followed by a time of teaching. Anytime leftover, is free time for the students.

  • We have free time for the first hour of the event where students may be playing different sports, card games, or even working on homework while hanging out with each other. The last 30 minutes of the event is spent diving into the Bible and getting to know more from the Word.

  • At Pleasant View we place an emphasis on the safety of all children and attenders of the church. All leaders and volunteers are required to have a background check to work with youth. We have cameras throughout the campus, covering the interior and exterior of the property. Additionally, we have the youth sign in and out for an event to make sure everyone is accounted for. We lock the door 30 minutes after youth group starts to ensure increased safety. We also encourage students to focus on making meaningful connections at youth group and ask that they put their phone in the phone locker. However, we understand that parents may need to be in contact. They can call the church 574.533.2872 or a leader’s phone number can be given upon request.
